Hear from the team who helped to create www.bebodypositive.org.uk. With eating disorder referrals on the rise among young people in the UK, it is crucial we provide early support to those who have concerns with eating and their bodies. We hosted a webinar together with community health outreach officer, Lucy Lee from Thames Life to offer a guide to youth workers.
In this webinar, we cover the importance of early intervention when it comes to disordered eating and body image in young people. Recognising early warning signs and taking timely action can be pivotal in helping individuals navigate their journey towards a healthier relationship with food and their bodies.
Together with community worker, Lucy Lee from Thames Life, we explore the potential of Be Body Positive as an effective tool for community and youth workers. These professionals often find themselves at the forefront, supporting young people, parents, and carers dealing with body image and eating-related challenges. Be Body Positive equips youth and community workers with a comprehensive set of psychoeducational and self-guided resources, making it an invaluable asset in their toolkit.
96% of the people who took part in this webinar said that they were likely to use Be Body Positive as a resource to support young people.
Feedback from the session:
Take this opportunity to familiarise yourself with the Be Body Positive resource, and gain a deeper appreciation for its potential to positively impact the lives of the young people you work with.
